Our customer is a Switzerland-based company with roughly 60 years of experience, providing full-cycle electronic manufacturing solutions from research and development through to large-scale production and supply chain management. Headquartered in eastern Switzerland, it operates production facilities across some 12–13 countries in Europe, Asia and North Africa. The company serves leading players in the healthcare technology, industrial and aerospace & defence sectors, combining high-tech components with customer-specific development and manufacturing expertise.
The customer needed to automate the tending of testing stations, with each cobot required to serve between 2 and 4 stations, replacing monotonous, repetitive manual work.
We provided UR cobot arms along with technical support to enable the customer’s own team to carry out the integration themselves. Each cobot was configured to tend 2–4 testing stations, giving the customer flexibility in how the solution was deployed across their production floor.
The new system automated monotonous, repetitive tasks, freeing up employees from tedious testing station tending. By receiving technical support for self-integration, the customer also gained the in-house knowledge and independence to manage and expand the solution on their own going forward.
