Background of the Customer

Our customer is a Poland-based labour supply company, providing workforce solutions to manufacturing operations. Its services support a Chinese-owned electronics facility in Poland specializing in LCD TV assembly, helping ensure a reliable and flexible workforce for high-volume production.

What was the requirement? 

The customer, active in the electronic manufacturing of home appliances (LCD TVs), needed to automate the screwing of motherboards onto panels — fixing each board with 4 screws — directly on a moving conveyor line, working in close proximity to human operators, without requiring the panels to be precisely positioned beforehand.

Our offered Solution

We implemented a custom-developed machine vision system combined with a screwdriving unit, mounted on a UR10 cobot arm operating in collaborative mode. The machine vision guides the cobot to accurately locate and fix the motherboard with 4 screws even on non-positioned LCD panels moving along the conveyor line.

What was the benefit for the customer?

The new system delivered higher and more consistent quality in the screwing process while saving labour, all while safely operating close to human operators on a moving line. The vision-guided approach eliminated the need for precise panel positioning, making the solution flexible and well suited to the existing production flow.
