Background of the Customer

Our client is a key player in Central Europe in the market of fresh, frozen and canned vegetables. The company is committed to quality ingredients, innovative processing solutions, and sustainability to provide consumers with healthy and varied dietary options. Their mission is to make vegetables easily accessible to everyone and part of their daily diet.

What was the requirement?

Our client was looking for an automated solution for palletizing empty glass bottles. The traditional mechanical transfer system used in the past often broke the bottles, which was a significant problem in the production process.

Our offered Solution

The mechanical transfer was replaced by a solution with a vacuum head, which can safely transfer an entire pallet of glass to the conveyor line at a time. The Kenos foam gripper from Piab that we used proved to be ideal because: it works reliably, is easy to install and easy to maintain. The vacuum head allows you to reload glass bottles of various sizes without damage, without the operator having to stop the machine. The system can perform up to 4 cycles per minute, making it highly efficient in supporting production.

What was the benefit for the customer?

The automated solution ensured cost reductions, efficiency gains and reliable operation at the same time. Bottle breakage has practically ceased, so the rate of waste has decreased. This has enabled a faster, uninterrupted production process.
