Over the past three decades, Romania’s automation industry has undergone major transformations, moving from predominantly manual processes to increasingly integrated, connected and intelligent production environments. Tech-Con Romania has actively contributed to this evolution and, in 2026, celebrates 30 years in business.

The experience Tech-Con Romania has built alongside Universal Robots, and the results achieved in robotic automation, have demonstrated in practice the value and efficiency of collaborative robots. Developing the local partnership with Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR), a Teradyne Robotics company, and integrating MiR solutions into the Tech-Con Romania portfolio is a natural next step. This expansion takes automation beyond individual operations, to the material flows that connect them.

From automated processes to an integrated industrial flow

The performance of a production facility depends both on the automation of its operations and on how efficiently materials are moved between process stages. By developing its intralogistics capabilities, Tech-Con Romania approaches automation at the level of the entire operational system.

MiR solutions automate internal material transport and help create autonomous, flexible and predictable flows. They can reduce bottlenecks, limit unnecessary manual transport and support the continuity of production and logistics operations.

INTRALOGISTICS

A portfolio built around real material flows

The MiR portfolio covers a wide range of intralogistics applications and payload requirements. The MiR250 and MiR600 mobile robots are designed for the autonomous movement of materials in diverse production environments, while the MiR1200 Pallet Jack automates pallet transport. Together, these technologies allow the internal transport system to be adapted to the facility layout, the loads being moved, traffic conditions and the requirements of each application.

Mobile collaborative robots for multiple workstations

Automation can extend beyond material transport. Mobile Cobot solutions combine the mobility of MiR platforms with the flexibility of Universal Robots collaborative robots, so that a single system can serve multiple workstations. This approach is especially useful when operations are spread across the factory, the product mix changes, or a fixed robotic cell would limit flexibility.

Thirty years celebrated through technology in action

In early September, Tech-Con Romania celebrated 30 years in business together with customers, partners and industry specialists. Live demonstrations and hands-on discussions showcased solutions for production and intralogistics, including the MiR solutions recently added to the company’s portfolio. The anniversary marks the beginning of a new chapter for Tech-Con Romania, in which automation will increasingly connect production processes with the material flows that support them.
