Safety quick couplings with ISO 4414 standard

In addition to the general features of standard quick couplings, safety quick couplings prevent the plug from disconnecting if there is still pressure on the connector side.

This helps to avoid the so-called “shot effect” – which can result in damage and injuries – that occurs when the hose is disconnected while there is still pressure on the connector side.

This makes Cmatic GU safety quick couplings compliant with the ISO 4414 standard.

GU Safety quick couplings

  • Body: Anodised Aluminium Al2011
  • Valve: Brass UNI EN 12164 CW614N
  • Thread: Brass nickel plated UNI EN 12164 CW614N
  • Button: Hardened, zinc plated steel 11SMnPb37
  • Springs: Stainless Steel AISI 302

How do safety quick couplings work?

The method of disconnecting safety quick couplings is two step:
1) The first press of the quick couplings button vents the system.
2) The second press releases the plug connector.

Cmatic GU Safety line is entirely made up of metal parts offering a robust design thanks to the aluminum bodybrass nickel-plated thread and zinc plated steel button and venting ring.

What are the GU Safety’s main features?

The double-push mechanism guarantees a safe tube disconnection. Moreover, it remains swiveling after installation. Cmatic GU safety is available in different profiles, and it is REACH and RoHS compliant, Silicon Free and ISO 4414 certified.
